| The Sandpiper Bay Member/Member Tournament for 2013 was held on April 17 at the Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club. Origionally scheduled as a two day event it was reduced to a single day due to inclement weather on Monday. The format was 18 holes of two man best ball competion. Full handicaps were used. Walter Hagen Flight First place, JJ Whalen and John Hannigan with a tournement best 54. Second place, Gordy Coulson and Mike Donovan at 58. Third Place, Don Moore and Don DeMore at 59. Fourth place, Bill Snyder and Tony Hanna at 60. Bobby Jones Flight First place, Ralph Bowman and Doug Stokes 56. Second place, Ed Apalinski and Bob Eason 58. Third place, Garry Cofer and Mike Harris 60. Fourth place was a tie at 61, Lance Lewina an Bobby Bryce tied with Bob DuBosar and Mark Maesano. Francis Quimet Flight First place, Ron Donley and Jack Dobson 59. Second place, Mike Matlock and Tom Ioven 61 Third place, a tie at 62, Frank Gajderowicz and Chuck Maglio tied with Dean Montgomery and Burnie Fowler. Gene Sarazen Flight First place, a tie at 57, Al Paynter and Tony DeMarte tied with Jeff Smith and Tom Townsend. Second place, also a tie (58), Jack Robison and Walt Perron tied with Don Capretta and John Wilkes. Closest to the pin winners: #2 Sand Mike Phipps, #6 Sand Vince Niland, #8 Sand Mike Phipps. Number 3 Piper Al Paynter, #36 Piper Joe McIlroy, #8 Piper Jeff Smith, #3 Bay John Wilkes and #5 Bay Bill Snyder. | ||
